ASS affected soil can be treated on site or in situ, no need for expensive transport and land fill charges. Complete acid neutralisation is achieved using crushed Calcium Carbonate, as recommended by the DWER, with an ENV rating of about 80%. The LAT150 is a pugmill like soil mixing plant that is mobile and particularly suited to trenching of pipelines or working in confined construction environments.
The contaminated soil can be treated at the rate of 150 cubic metres per hour for clean sand or about 50 cubic metres for clays and peaty soils. Whether the soil is wet or dry the LAT150 can transform the soil into a completely acid neutralised and environmentally safe product. The treated soil can then be recycled on site or safely transported to other sites without restrictions, having met all regulatory guidelines and validation criteria.
